Christina Folsom joined Cumann Staire while on her study abroad year, 2008-09, and became a general Coiste member following her active interest in assisting in the running of CS events. Her main achievement for the academic year 2008-09 was in playing a key part in the successful organisation of the international history conference Aistir 2009. For the year 2009-10 Christina was selected to continue in the position of general Coiste member.

Christina had completed two years of her undergraduate course at the University of Tampa, Florida, before her study abroad year. As result of her academic and cultural experiences in Gaillimh she successfully applied for a transfer into the final year of the Single Honours in History BA of Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh (NUI Galway). Cristíona comes from Norwood, Massachusetts, and having moved to Gaillimh is actively learning Irish. She has a strong interest in Irish history, ecclesiastical history and American social history of the 1930s and 40s.
